We are committed to developing a cleaner, safer and less car-dominated environment throughout the borough. We have set out an action plan to tackle these problems.
Sutton's draft sustainable transport strategy addresses the problems caused by petrol and diesel powered vehicles, including air pollution and global warming.
Our car parks that have electric vehicle charging are:
- Times Square multistorey
- Gibson Road multistorey
- Wallington Library
- Melbourne Road, Wallington
- The Square, Carshalton
- Kingsway Road, Cheam
How it works
To use the recharging points you need to have a membership to sourcelondon.
Parking is free whilst the car is recharging in the electric bays.
Surface Pay and Display Car Parks
You don’t need to buy a pay and display ticket to have in your car. Our Civil Enforcement Officers just need to see that your car is plugged in to a Source London recharging point. The vehicle can be fully electric or a hybrid to qualify for free parking, as long as it is charging. The electric vehicle charging points are available for use 24 hours a day/7 days a week.
Multi-storey Pay on Foot Car Parks
Take a ticket at the entry barrier as normal.
The vehicle can be fully electric or a hybrid to qualify for free parking, as long as it is charging.
When exiting the car park, alert the Parking Attendant by pressing the help button on a pay machine, or at the barrier, and they will manually raise the barrier for exit.
You’re only allowed to recharge during the daily operational hours of each car park. It must be taken out of the car park before the car park closes that day.If a vehicle is left in the car park overnight, the vehicle owner will be charged for their parking session at the rates applicable for that car park. Payment will need to be made at the payment machine prior to exit.
