Free events for families with young children

Sutton is set to host its annual Early Years Week, a roadshow designed to connect families with council services and fun activities for children aged up to five years old. Running from 2 - 6 June, the week features dedicated events at libraries across Sutton, promising engaging sessions and valuable information for parents and carers.

The initiative aims to provide a welcoming platform where families can meet teams from various early years services, offering direct access to support and advice. It's a collaborative effort involving key organisations such as the Family Hub & Children's Centres, the Family Information Service, Cognus Early Years Team, Playwise, Early Years SEND Advisors, Home Start, and the Health Visiting Team, among others, all committed to supporting early childhood development.

The roadshow kicks off on Monday 2 June, at Sutton Central Library. The day’s activities include "Mini Movers" for 2-5 year olds, sessions with the Sutton Music Trust, "Rhymetime" for 0-5 year olds, and get ready to boogie down and sculpt some fun at the exciting Playdough Disco for children aged 2-5.

The excitement continues on Tuesday 3 June, at Wallington Library. Families can enjoy "Story Music and Rhyme" for under 2s, and "Rhymetime" for 0-5 year olds, "Wallington Squirrels" for 0-3 year olds, and a second "Playdough Disco".

This final event day, Friday 6 June, will be held at Worcester Park Library and will feature two "Rhymetime" sessions for 0-5 year olds and a special "Baby Massage Taster" for infants aged 0-6 months.
