The South West London (SWL) Child Death Overview Panel arrangements follows statutory guidance.

The SWL CDOP will adhere to the statutory guidance: Child Death Statutory and Operational Guidance (England) 2018: practice guidance.

The guidance sets out the full process that follows the death of a child. It builds on the statutory requirements set out in Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018  and clarifies the roles of individual professionals and organisations across all sectors involved in the child death review, and how they should contribute to reviews. It will ensure that information from the child death review process is systematically captured in every case to enable learning to prevent future deaths.
