Sutton's A-level and B-Tech students are on track to continue the borough's strong tradition of exam performance, with early results indicating they will again surpass national averages.

Early analysis shows that Sutton schools have achieved a preliminary average A or A* pass grade of  46.6%  (compared with 28.43% nationally) - and a preliminary average A* - C pass rate of 88.3% (compared with 77.7% nationally).

In addition to fantastic A-level results, Sutton’s students have also excelled in Vocational Training Qualifications, with students achieving a pass rate of 89.17% across a large range of vocational subjects.

Some of these students will move into employment, while others will continue their education in the borough, including at the Sutton Life Centre and Sutton College, where a new  SEND college and Preparation for Adulthood Hub is set to open later this year.

Students at Overton Grange School celebrated their A-level and B-Tech results, with Headteacher Chris McNab commenting: "At Overton Grange we are immensely proud of our students’ exceptional results this year. Their achievements reflect not only their hard work and resilience, but also the dedication of our staff and the unwavering support of families. This fantastic set of results will allow our students to progress on to the exciting next step in their career — whether that’s at university, through apprenticeships, or in the world of work — and we wish them every success in the next stage of their journey.”

Councillor Marian James, Chair of Sutton Council’s People Committee, said: “Congratulations to the Sutton students receiving their results today!

“Students across the borough have worked extremely hard and today is the culmination of that work. Whether students are heading to university, further education or the world of work, I wish them the best for the future.”
