For flats with shared/communal bins
- food waste is collected every week
- paper & card and plastics, glass, cans and cartons are collected weekly
- general waste (non-recyclable) is collected every week
You can use your postcode to check your collection days.
In some flats, it is not possible to offer all collection services and for space reasons, you might have different containers in your bin store. All containers should be clearly labelled telling you what to put where, but if you’re not sure please speak to your landlord or managing agent.
The Flats Recycling Fund provides up to £10,000 to improve communal waste facilities. This includes:
- new bins
- bin stores
- better bin labels
- initiatives to improve recycling and reduce contamination
