It’s important that gullies (road drains) are kept clean and free of blockages. This reduces the risk of surface flooding.
Most gullies in the borough are cleaned every two years. Those in roads that are prone to flooding are cleaned more frequently.
If you are concerned that a drain (gully) in your road is blocked, you can report it to us.
The council is not responsible for drains on TFL maintained 'Red Routes'. These should be reported directly to TFL through their reporting system TFL Streetcare.

How we clean blocked drains
We've improved our gully cleaning programme to help prevent flooding in the borough.
Roads that are more prone to flooding will be cleaned more frequently. These gullies will be cleaned every 3 months. All other gullies will be cleaned at least every 2 years.
