New Middle of Lidl for the Middle of Sutton!

A key corner of Sutton High Street - the former Wilko’s - is set to become a new store for Lidl, in a deal announced this week by Sutton Council who own the site.
Lidl have agreed a 20-year lease and the store will be fitted out for smaller "one basket" shopping.
The new-style store will be for passers-by already in the town centre who want to do a quick and small shop. The new store concept is very different to Lidl’s larger existing store at the Sutton Green end of the High Street, which has car parking, for larger shops.
The exact date the new store will open is still subject to Lidl’s licensing application being agreed by the Council.
Councillor Barry Lewis, Leader of Sutton Council, said:
“Sutton shoppers will soon be able to enjoy even more Middle of Lidl offers with a new shop right in the middle of Sutton.
"It's great that Lidl have the confidence in Sutton’s main high street to open a second store and it will be good to see this empty property come back into use.
“We have a busy and successful town centre and will keep delivering our ambitions to make it even better.”
