Local Government Transparency Code
The Local Government Transparency Code 2015 sets out key principles for local authorities to create greater transparency through the publication of public data. It outlines the minimum requirements for local authorities to publish open data for re-use and in a timely way.
The aim is to place more power into citizens’ hands to increase democratic accountability. This will make it easier for you to contribute to the local decision-making process and help shape public services.

Contracts and procurement
The contract is for the provision of efficient and effective waste collection and recycling services and street cleansing services. Including household residual waste, food waste, dry recycling, garden waste, bulky waste as well as street cleansing and winter maintenance services. The contractor is Veolia Environmental Services. From 01/04/2025 until 31/03/2033 with an option to extend for a further two years. The contract value is £100,000,000.
Staffing
The gender pay gap is the difference between the average earnings of men and women, expressed relative to men’s earnings.
From 2017, any organisation that has 250 or more employees must publish and report specific figures about their gender pay gap.
