Jo, Acting Team Manager, Children with Disabilities
Jo joined Sutton as a Fostering Independent Reviewing Officer before taking on the role of IRO Team Manager. She is currently the Acting Team Manager for our Children with Disabilities Team
“I’ve worked in Sutton’s Children’s services since 2014, firstly as the fostering IRO (independent reviewing officer) and then as the IRO team manager.
During this time I’ve seen it go from strength to strength and am proud to be part of a workforce that is passionate about achieving the very best outcomes for all the children we work with.
It is a supportive environment in which teams work well together to ensure children’s safety and wellbeing remain central, and high standards of practice are maintained. Creative and innovative approaches are encouraged, and our work benefits from having clear models of practice.
Sutton is also ambitious for its workers with a strong focus on practice development and career progression. This is supported through good supervision plus a range of training and learning opportunities, and I was fortunate to complete an accredited foundation level training in family therapy.
I really enjoy working in Sutton and would recommend it for anyone who wants to join a friendly and welcoming authority with high aspirations for our children and their families!”
