Flats Above Shops Bag Service

Collections of council provided recycling and general waste bags are provided twice a week.  Each collection allows for one blue and one red bag to be presented.

 

Mixed recycling: blue stripe recycling bags

  • recyclable materials must be presented in blue stripe recycling bags
  • any other type of bag will be treated as fly-tipping and you may receive a fine
  • a supply of blue stripe recycling bags are delivered every 3 months (you can request additional blue stripe recycling bags if needed)

  • card and cardboard
  • egg boxes
  • plastic pots, tubs and trays
  • plastic bottles
  • glass jars and bottles
  • cans, tins, aerosols and tin foil
  • food and drink cartons

Recycling - what we can't collect

  • plastic bags
  • plastic film
  • polystyrene
  • hard plastics (toys, plant pots etc)
  • dirty cardboard (e.g. food stained pizza box)
  • disposable face masks
  • tissue paper
  • nappies
  • shredded paper
  • batteries
  • garden waste
  • general waste

 

General waste: red stripe general waste bags

  • general waste must be presented in red stripe general waste bags
  • any other type of bag will be treated as fly-tipping and you may receive a fine
  • a supply of red stripe general waste bags are delivered every 3 months (we will not provide additional red stripe general waste bags)

  • wet or dirty cardboard (food stained pizza box)
